It's going to allow you to remember items faster and easier by jotting them down in checklists as they pop in your head.  A packing checklist can function as a shopping list, which will certainly remind you of the details that you should remember. 

Don't Load Up To Much At A Time 
Moving is hard enough, so don't make it any worse by packing your arms with an excessive amount of excess weight.  For those who pack lightly, it might cost you a little more footwork, but your body is going to thank you when you're done.
